I thought I would pass on some knowledge and helpful tips to help you care for your balloons. As like the rest of us, we all like to be looking our best!
Weather
Always a topic of conversation, so why not start here!
As we all know the weather in this country can be a little unpredictable!
Most of the time when we deliver balloons, it tends to be a bit chilly, so it’s worth bearing in mind how the cold air effects foil and helium balloons.
Helium floats due to it being thinner then air, but when it becomes cold it makes helium more dense, which makes it heavier then air, causing your balloon to shrink slightly. Do not fear, as once it is back in the warmth it will become plump once more.
In warm weather latex balloons will typically only last a day when being outside. As the latex will start to biodegrade due to the sun and heat. Where possible lighter colours are better options for outdoor displays as they reflect the sun. Darker colours are more prone to absorbing the heat and will pop.
The heat causes balloons to expand, so we would slightly underinflate them, so when this happens they are less likely to pop. This is the case for air filled balloons as well as helium.
Pretty much all balloons don’t do well in windy weather, outdoor balloons are much better being secured within a fixed garland, to stop them from being battered. That being said if the weather permits, helium displays can be used. Though bear in mind this may not be an option depending on the conditions of the day.
Balloons dislike
It may seem like pointing out the obvious, though it is well worth thinking about your surroundings when it comes to balloons. They do not like coming in to contact with sharp objects, the last thing you want is for them to pop and scare the life out of you.
Balloons don’t like heat, so please be careful of spot lights, especially with ceiling balloons, spot lights may become hot after a few hours use and your helium balloons will almost certainly pop if they are too close.
They don’t like being trapped, either in car boots or in tight spaces such as doorways where you may need to drag them.
They can be exciting for fun loving pets, though they don’t do well with playful paws and beaks.
Balloons shrink in the cold and pop in the heat. So shouldn’t be left in garages overnight or in cars where they could become to hot or too cold depending on what our lovely weather is doing!!!
